Need to Know Before Your Trip

We want your day on the water to be relaxing, fun, and completely stress-free. Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions about booking, preparation, and what to expect on your fishing charter or cruise.

Booking & Payments

How do I book a trip?

You can call or text Captain Tyler directly at 941-524-2963 or email tylerkaiser715@gmail.com. We recommend booking early, especially during peak seasons (spring and summer).

Is a deposit required?

Yes. A $100 deposit is required to hold your date.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Your deposit is fully refundable if canceled at least 5 days before your trip. Cancellations within 5 days may forfeit the deposit unless weather or unforeseen safety conditions cause rescheduling or cancellation.

What if the weather is bad?

Safety is always the priority. If weather conditions make the trip unsafe, we’ll reschedule for another day or refund your deposit.

Do you allow last-minute bookings?

 Yes! We often have openings, especially on weekdays. Text or call to check availability.

Trip Details

Where do trips depart from?

All charters and cruises leave from the Kingfish Boat Ramp, located at:
 752 Manatee Ave W, Holmes Beach, FL

What time do trips start?

Departure times vary based on trip type, tide, and season. Morning trips generally leave between 6:30–8:00 AM. Sunset cruises depart later in the afternoon.

How many people can come?

Trips include up to 4 passengers, with room for 2 additional guests for $50 each (maximum of 6 total).

Are kids allowed?

Absolutely! Inshore and nearshore trips are especially family-friendly. Children under 6 are required to wear life jackets we recommend bringing your own for comfort, but we can provide one upon request.

Can I bring alcohol or cigars?

Yes, responsible drinking and smoking (including cigars, cigarettes, and vaping) are permitted. Please bring cans or plastic bottles no glass containers.

What’s Included

You just bring: sunscreen, hat, polarized sunglasses, snacks, and drinks.

Fish & Catch Info

Can we keep the fish we catch?

Yes, as long as the fish meet Florida Fish and Wildlife (FWC) regulations for size and season. Captain Tyler will handle cleaning and bagging your catch at the end of the trip.

Can you recommend where to cook our catch?

Absolutely local favorites like The Waterfront and Seafood Shack will prepare your cleaned fish after the trip.

Do you practice catch and release?

Yes. If you prefer to release your catch, Captain Tyler will help ensure the fish are handled safely for a healthy releas

Other Policies

Do I need a fishing license?

No — all required licenses are covered under Reel Local AMI Charters’ commercial license.

Can I bring my own gear?

You’re welcome to bring your own rods or tackle if you prefer. Please let Captain Tyler know in advance so he can plan accordingly.

What about tipping?

Tips are never required but always appreciated. The industry standard is 15–20% for a great experience.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes! Gift certificates are available year-round perfect for birthdays, holidays, and special occasions.
